Hi! I’m Ariana Richardson and I am a writer and photographer.

For as long as I can remember I’ve loved to make up stories and act them out in my head. It sounds weird, but I was that kid in class who started to drift off into daydreams at the slightest hint of boredom. I was also a bit of a know-it-all so as soon as I got past the “See Jane Run” phase, I was a voracious reader. I had to know all the things.  It took me a while to make the connection between my overactive imagination and writing, though. I thought only important people who knew what they were doing could be trusted with this type of power. Who knew that I could just reach out and take it if I wanted? Expanding my interests to include photography seemed like a natural progression to me. I can still craft stories with the camera, it’s just a bit more nuanced. When I picked up my first cheap disposable camera all those years ago, I never realized how enamored I’d become of texture, the rule of thirds, and light.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I have no plans to move anywhere else permanently, but I would love to spend a few years living/working in other environments. Like on the beach in Maui. Or on the west coast in San Francisco. Or in the mountains of Colorado. I’d also like to experience at least one really cold, snowy winter somewhere…maybe Michigan or Chicago.

Currently I’m obsessed with….

  • Tiny Houses. They’re so cute. And if you ever outgrow it, it’s instant rental property. Win/Win.
  • Backyard Gardening. My goal is to have something edible by the end of summer. Now if only I can convince the caterpillars to cooperate.
  • Orphan Black. This is the only show that I’ve ever binge-watched. It’s that exciting.
